Mona Issue 02 Launch
Mona Magazine Issue Two launches in Narrandera, Wiradjuri Country.
Mona Magazine's second edition launched in May, 2022 with the support of Books on East to a room full of contributors and supporters. The Mona team, Kat, Lauren and Kim were so proud to be launching a second issue full of rural women's stories, art, poetry and interviews.
The Mona team would like to thank the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal for funding Issue 02. What a privilege it was to be recognised by this organisation as doing worthwile work for regional communities. Thank you also to Hilary Manning for hosting the event and Pretty Little Lattes for the catering.
Mona Magazine Issue One has officially LAUNCHED!!!
We've had our doubts. We didn't know where we would end up when we started this crazy ride, but we have done it!
Mona Magazine Issue One officially launched into existence Saturday 11th of September, 2021 and we couldn't be prouder. It was a true pleasure to see everyone's excited and smiling faces, albeit through the dozens of screens from around regional Australia.
Mona Issue One has been such a joy to create and it quite simply wouldn't have come to reality without the dozens of women who put their trust in us to share their stories. To put your experiences, thoughts and ideas out there into the world is no small thing, especially for women where the social price for speaking up can be devastating. The courage in being vulnerable our contributors showed us gave us so much encouragement that creating this magazine was going to be a powerful thing.
Thank you to Fiona, Cathy, Oumi and Lenore for reading their pieces and sharing their processes. Listening to you share your work with other women was really special for us.
A big thank you to Griffith City Council and Western Riverina Arts for their support of this project.
We are so excited for what the future holds for this growing community. Thank you so much to everyone for being a part of the first step in this journey.
